Not just another ‘wellness coach’…
Catriona is the owner and founder of EHH. After a 15 year career in nursing Catriona branched out in to Functional Health in 2022. Initially trading as Serenity Wellness after she trained and received her certification in Nutrition for Health, she offered bespoke nutritional consultations and 1:1 coaching. Later increasing her knowledge and skills by completing her Functional Wellness Practitioner Diploma over the next 3 years, Catriona is a qualified Functional Wellness Practitioner, specialising in female hormonal health.
Catriona’s extensive nursing and medical background, beginning in mental health and laterally child health, provides an unrivalled understanding of physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing, as well as the intricacies of Clinical Governance whilst working in an ever saturated and ultimately unregulated area. Catriona’s clinical experience spans 20 years, multiple clinical environments and specialities, and thousands of patients and clients.
A short spell in Human Resources as a Wellbeing Advisor saw these skills transferred to the corporate sector, undertaking project management through piloting and implementing employee wellbeing initiatives from physiotherapy, to group health coaching, to organising educational health webinars, delivering health talks to leaders herself and providing managers with a more person centred approach to supporting attendance at work. Catriona is passionate about workplace wellbeing and is available for corporate webinars, as well as speaking requests.
Catriona does not only rely on textbook information. Her own journey with hormonal imbalances, gut dysbiosis, fatigue, and food intolerances has formed the majority of her adult life. Only truly beginning to understand this after the birth of her second child and experiencing a massive health crisis. From this Catriona was determined to understand what was going on in her body, frustrated at bloods and scans coming back as ‘normal’ but knowing deeply that something wasn’t right, she began studying with the College of Functional Wellness, purely for her own knowledge and understanding of the functional approach to health. From there her eyes were opened to how simple, and yet so complex the female body is, and was determined to support other women with their health challenges, this is where Serenity Wellness became Empowered Her Health.
Catriona is fully insured and regulated by the Federation of Holistic Therapists, as well as receiving clinical supervision from a (BANT) registered functional nutritionist on a monthly basis.
Catriona hosts regular events in her local area and details of upcoming webinars, events, as well as speaking requests are sent to you when you subscribe to emails from EHH.
The Mission, and Vision when forming EHH was to demystify the complexities of female health and empower women to take control of what they can with their wellbeing. There is no age limit to who Catriona works with, her clinical caseload in private practice has included, but not limited to supporting - teenage boys, period issues, PMDD, PCOS, hormonal acne, men with digestive issues, support to manage symptoms associated with chronic health conditions, weight concerns, infertility and optimising fertility, emotional wellbeing, women who have experienced a difficult menopause, nutritional advice for children, and supporting health for those using GLP-1 medications. As a Functional Wellness Practitioner, Catriona is clear that she does not treat conditions or make recommendations on medications or medical treatment, her scope of practise is to support the individual not a condition. Protocols are tailored to the individual’s needs, however you may be referred back to your GP for further investigation if necessary. It is important to let your healthcare provider know that you are working with a functional practitioner and any supplements you may be recommended to avoid contraindications with medications.
